It’s National Volunteering Week, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the wonderful people who make everything we do possible!
The theme for the national event this year is “From every corner, for every cause,” and that is something we deeply resonate with at CAP Ireland.
While we operate with a very small staff, the true heartbeat of our organisation is our volunteers. From our Trustees and Directors to the Money Coaches and Befrienders in our partner churches—and our faithful prayer partners all across the land—everyone gives their time, energy, and commitment to our vision:
To empower churches all over Ireland to help local people manage their personal finances, and discover fullness of life in Jesus.
Sharing Expertise, Combatting Financial Stress
Through our “train the trainer” model, CAP staff equip local people to deliver our simple and highly effective money coaching workshops. This ensures that expertise isn’t kept by a select few, but is shared widely so that money coaching can reach every corner of Ireland. Together, we are serving the vital cause of reducing financial stress and combatting poverty.
We still have a long way to go to ensure financial education is accessible in every city, town, and parish, but we continue to pray and work toward that goal.
A Diverse Community with One Heart
Our volunteers are a wonderfully varied group. We don’t have “cookie-cutter” money coaches; our team includes homemakers and IT professionals, Gen Zs and retirees. Each person brings a unique perspective and distinct gifts, but they all share one crucial thing: a heart for showing God’s love and care in a practical way.

To support this diverse group even better, this year we are launching a Community of Practice. This initiative will bring our volunteers together to share experiences, exchange knowledge, and develop money coaching in their local areas. This diversity brings a depth and richness to our ministry that staff alone simply couldn’t achieve, and we are incredibly excited for what the future holds.
