“An essential ministry partner…”

CAP Ireland’s new Strategic Plan 2025-27 is focused on collaborating with church partners so that we might become:

an essential ministry partner

Since publicly launching as a charity in September 2023, the journey has been one of cultivating relationships with a broad range of churches and stakeholders across the country. As a new start-up Christian charity broadly in the financial education sector, we considered how best our work takes off and grows alongside more mature and established organisations and agencies.

2024 was a year of learning and grafting in terms of taking a proven CAP model and figuring out what transplants well and what needs to be homegrown, in our Republic of Ireland context. Our vision remains:

Empowering churches all over Ireland to help local people manage their personal finances, and discover fullness of life in Jesus

We’ve had some early success and impact thankfully, with early green shoots appearing. Now we sense we’re ready for the next phase:

Becoming an essential ministry partner with many churches across the country

Only community-based churches and parishes that are loving, praying and Spirit-led can achieve integral change. Only their well-trained and equipped volunteers can hope to deliver practical and holistic transformation. Yet we also desire to collaborate well with other specialist partners as poverty (in all its forms) is complex, requiring an enriched landscape and approach. We want to propagate green shoots into strong sustainable trees that are straight and true, so our values are also set out in our new strategic plan below:

On behalf of the Board and staff of the charity, we are pleased to publicly launch this new Strategic Plan, committing it first to God for him to work in us and through us in its implementation. It is also our commitment to all our partners; donors; volunteers and supporters alike. In the words of Jesus:

“No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the service in the kingdom of God” Luke 9:62

Some of the Directors/Trustees involved in developing the new strategic plan starting last summer with the CEO (Sam our consultant helping us in the process took the picture and made us all laugh 🙂

Finally, we would like to acknowledge the guidance and support received from CAP UK, Mark Kitson and the other four national CAP entities. They have been hugely generous in strengthening us, prior to launching publicly and since then in gifting us money coaching and in us seeking operational excellence.
