“…such a joy to do…”
“…we were so surprised…”
“…we’d so much fun learning about money together…”
These are a few of the quotes from Cathy, one of our volunteer Money Coaches. Cathy and her team recently ran their second money coaching course through their church in south-county Dublin. Listen in as she shares more of their amazing experience with a range of participants on their courses, from young adults upwards:
Also hear from Pastor Dougie. Many of us struggle with money issues at some point in our lives, including the anxiety it often brings. Church-based practical ministries like CAP offer real answers and real hope. This includes those who attend church but also those from the wider community.
To see much more about how money coaching works then please head over to CAP’s money coaching webpage. To date CAP has just over 20 church partners adopting money coaching and has delivered induction training to 80+ volunteer Coaches and Befrienders. Through church partners, six money coaching courses have been run for participants so far this year and we pray for many more.
There are many independent headline statistics that point to the financial need for money coaching. In fact we’ve highlighted one ourselves in a recent post HERE. But statistics have a tendency to under-tell the real human lived experiences: anxiety; stress, even the marital “spats” over money and household budgeting. That’s why CAP’s focus is twofold with our Participants:
- Gaining new practical knowledge, skills and attitudes towards them handling their money within a safe peer-to-peer context
- Holistic continuous learning and understanding within an empowering and caring context
This video is about 14 minutes long but for shorter bite-sized bits see CAP Ireland on Facebook and Instagram.
Many thanks to Nick and David in the EAI office for helping to highlight the impact of money coaching through church partners nationwide.
